GENERAL

When does the festival start? 
The event starts at 11am and finishes at 11pm on Saturday 4th June 2022. Please arrive early to avoid queues.

 

Can I smoke anywhere onsite? 

You can not smoke inside the tented stages or bars. You will be asked to finish your cigarette outside the tented stages or bars before entry.

 

Can I bring in a vape? 

Yes, vapes and 50ml bottles of vaping liquid will be allowed. 

 

If I leave the festival can I get back in? 
Don’t leave the site unless you are leaving for good. There is no re-admittance as part of our licence, so if you leave you can't come back in!

 

When will set times be released? 
Set times will drop a few weeks before the festival. 

 

Where is customer support located? 
The customer support team will be based near the entrance and will be available to help with any queries and issues. If your query is urgent please approach someone wearing a high vis vest.

 

Can I bring my dog to the festival? 
There is a no pets policy at Detonate Festival. For medical assistance dogs please contact info@detonate1.co.uk

 

Can I bring a bag? 
Big bags and rucksacks cannot be taken to the festival. however, small handbags and manbags are allowed. (approx the size of an A4 piece of paper). 

 

Will I be searched 
For the safety of our customers and our staff, everyone will be searched prior to entry. Anyone found with illicit items will have them confiscated and may be removed from the festival or handed over to the police.

 

Which items are unacceptable for entry? 
Everyone will be searched prior to being admitted to the festival. Please be aware searching takes some time so please consider arriving as early as possible. Peak time tends to be from 1.30pm - 4pm.

 

You cannot bring in :

  • Food or drinks of any type

  • Liquids 

  • Glass 

  • Mirrors 

  • Drugs 

  • Legal highs 

  • Anything which can be used as a weapon ie selfie sticks, golf umbrellas...

  • No aerosols, sprays or pressurised containers 

  • Perfumes or aftershaves

  • Bicycles 

  • Flares or fireworks 

  • Stereo systems

  • Portable laser equipment and pens 

  • Air horns 

  • Large bags - small bags are ok (approx the size of an A4 piece of paper, max) 

 

Is there an arena and tent capacity? 
Most of our stages are open air and we do not envisage any congestion problems. All tents have a capacity that we cannot exceed. Once reached we aren't able to let people into the tents. Please arrive with plenty of time if there is an act you desperately want to see. If the arena is at capacity please find an alternative place to enjoy.

 

Will bins be provided? 
Please use the bins and the toilets provided. Colwick County park is a beautiful location for a music festival. Please, let’s keep it that way. We ask all our festival goers to minimise waste.

 

What do I do if I’ve lost an item? 
Please speak to our Customer Service Desk to see if your item has been handed in. Head to our website after the event where you can fill in a lost property form so we can get in touch if we find your lost item.

 

Where is lost property located? 
Lost property will be located close to the festival entrance next to the main top up area.

 

Will there be good toilets 
We have upgraded our toilets this year, and they will be cleaned and restocked throughout the day. Festival toilets can be an ordeal so please leave them as you would like to find them.

 

How do I dress? 
Please dress for all weather.

 

Other points to note
Don’t ruin your day by turning up intoxicated and not getting in - Our licence stipulates that we have to refuse you entry.
 

CASHLESS

How do I buy food & drink at Detonate Festival? 
1) Add Cashless Credit to your ticket during the ticket activation process
2) On entry to the event, you’ll be issued with your cashless wristband, once your entry ticket has been scanned
3) Your ticket will be linked to your wristband, and any purchased Cashless Credit will be applied at the same time
4) Head to the bar – get the drinks in!
5) Ran out of credit? Don’t worry – simply top-up with a credit/debit card or cash at one of our Top-Up stations
6) After the event - keep your wristband, including the chip, to refund anything that you’ve not spent.

Do I get free credit if I top up in advance? 
Yes! You get free bar credit when you purchase Cashless Credit pre-event when you spend £50 or more. This offer is not available for top-ups on the day of the event; it is only available on Cashless Credit bought in advance via above. By buying Cashless Credit in advance you have it applied on entry so no need to queue again once inside!

How does the free credit offer work? 
If you purchase £50 or more of Cashless Credit before the event – we’ll give you free bar credit. (£50 = £5 free, £100 = £10 free, £150 = £15 free). Your free credit will automatically be applied after you have used your paid credit. This offer is not available for any top-ups on the day.
 

How do I pay for things on site? 

Our Cashless Wristbands are the only payment method accepted across the entire festival site – including at bars, food and merchandise stalls. Upon entry, everyone will be given a wristband that contains a contactless RFID chip. To pay, you simply touch this chip onto the terminal presented to you by our staff. After each transaction, the amount of credit remaining on your wristband will be communicated to you.

How do I get my wristband?  
To buy credit for your wristband you have two options:

PURCHASE CASHLESS CREDIT BEFORE THE EVENT (STRONGLY RECOMENED) 
You can purchase Cashless Credit before the event via your ticket activation link. Doing this will not only save you time on the day, but you can also take advantage of our free Credit offers

VISIT TOP-UP STATIONS ON SITE
We will have a number of Top-Up stations across the festival site, where you can put Cashless Credit onto your wristband by using your credit/debit card or cash. Simply attend one of the stations, tell our staff how much you want to load onto your wristband, and complete the purchase using your credit/debit card or cash.
Once your cashless wristband is topped-up, you can start using it straight away.
 

If I run out of credit at the festival, can I top up more?
Yes. Simply visit a Top-Up station on site & you can add additional funds using your credit/debit card or cash.


Can I use my credit/debit card to buy food & drink?
No. Our staff will only be accepting payment using your cashless wristband. No card or cash payments will be accepted at any outlets on-site (bars, food, merch stalls). The only way to make purchases on site will be to use your cashless wristband, credit can be brought in advance with a credit/debit card, or on the day at our top up booths.

I've lost my wristband, what can I do? 
Your wristband should remain securely fastened to your wrist. There shouldn’t be any reason for you to remove it until the event has ended. You should treat your wristband as you would cash or your bank card. If you lose it, we are unable to recover any balance.

What if my wristband breaks?

From our experience, it’s very very rare for one of the wristbands to fail. However, if it does happen – don’t worry – our team will be able to swap it for you. Any balance on your broken wristband will be transferred to your new one.

Can I refund any credit which I don't spend?
Yes – but only after the event has ended. If you have a remaining balance after the event, you will be able to apply for a refund via www.detonatefestival.co.uk after the event. You will need your wristband, as you will need to enter the unique serial number printed on it to process your refund. If you would like to apply for a refund after the event, the refund link will be posted on www.detonatefestival.co.uk on 7/06/2022 at 12:00 midday and will close at 12:00 midday on 14/06/2022. All refunds must be applied for by 12:00 midday on Tuesday 14th June. Any unclaimed cashless credit may be refunded within the time window that the refund is open. (Free credit excluded)

Refunds can take 2-5 working days to process, depending on your location and bank account type. There is a £1.20 fee to cover transaction charges.

We will not be able to issue any refunds during the event itself or beyond the closing date.

Can I remove my wristband?
You should not remove your wristband whilst you are at the event. You should only remove your wristband when you have left the event. You will need the unique serial number on your wristband in order to claim a refund after the event, if you need to. If you do remove your wristband, and subsequently lose it, we are not responsible for any balance.

Is there an on site ATM?
There are no ATM’s on site, because the event is entirely cashless. Purchases can only be made using your contactless wristband. You can top-up your wristband on-site using a credit/debit card or cash at one of our Top-Up stations.

What are the terms & conditions?
· Free credit is only available with the advance purchase of Cashless Credit with a minimum spend of £50.
· Paid credit must be spent before free credit will be activated.
· Free credit is not refundable.
· Every customer is entitled to a refund after the event for any credit which isn’t spent on the day. The refund portal will open at 12:00 midday 7.6.22 and will be accessible via www.detonatefestival.co.uk
· For every refund processed, £1.20 bank charges will be incurred and will be deducted from the credit left on your wristband
· You must request a refund during the time that the refund portal is open.
· The refund portal will open a 12:00 midday 7/6/22 and close at 12:00 midday 14/6/22.
· All refunds must be applied for by 12:00 midday on 14/6/22. We will not be able to refund any amounts after this time.
· Any unclaimed Cashless Credit may be refunded within the time window that the refund portal is open. (Free credit excluded)

How do I buy tickets? 
All boat party tickets have sold out

Where do I get picked up for the boat party? 
Princess River Cruises Mooring
Below The Brewhouse and Kitchen Pub
Victoria Embankment
Nottingham

We would recommend using the directions to the Brewhouse.

The boat leaves at 12pm, so please get there in plenty of time beforehand.

 

Where do I get dropped off? 
The boat will drop you off at 1:30pm near to the Detonate Festival entrance.

COVID-19 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

At the moment we aren't expecting to have Covid-19 entry requirements in place but will be
 following government advice at the time.

TICKETING

Why haven’t I received my ticket? 

Tickets will not be sent out until much closer to the event in June, you will just be sent a confirmation email initially. When tickets are released, if you still can't find it please check your spam folders. You can also log in to your ticket suppliers website to redownload the ticket. If you are still unable to locate it, please contact your ticket supplier.

ENTRY

Is a photocopy of my ID acceptable? 
No, you must show your original ID. No ID, no entry.

Which ID is suitable? 
Must have a hologram logo approved by the PASS scheme / check here for ID types: https://www.wsta.co.uk/Challenge-25 We operate a Challenge 25 policy for entry to the festival and at all our bars. If security or bar staff think you might be under 25 they are obliged to ask for proof of age.  

What is the entry policy? 

To enter you must be 18 or over. It is absolutely crucial that you bring your ID and ticket with you. No ID, No entry. Please print or download your ticket onto your phone.

 

Do I have to print my ticket, or could I use my phone to display it? 
You can use your phone to display the unique barcode ticket on your screen. Please make sure you download the ticket onto your phone before you leave for the festival.

 

When should I arrive? 
Please come as early as you can. Queues will take considerably longer during peak times. Gates open at 11am.

 

When is last entry? 
Gates open at 11am. Last entry time is stated on your ticket, final entry will be no later than 4pm. Please note: Please check your ticket for last entry times, tickets may differ.

TRAVEL

Where is Detonate Festival?
Detonate Festival is held at the beautiful Colwick County Park in Colwick, Nottingham, NG2 4BE. The customer entrance is close to Colwick Hall Hotel and is accessed on foot from the drop off point at Nottingham Racecourse. 

 

Is there a bus to the festival?
Yes, the 44 runs from Kings Street in Nottingham City Centre to Nottingham Racecourse which is directly adjacent to the site. 

How do I get to Detonate Festival?
Car: There will be no parking at the site, please park elsewhere and use public transport if you are driving down.

 

Bus: Buses which go close to the festival site are: No. 44 and 44A - Nottingham City Transport

Taxis: There will be a taxi drop off point close to Nottingham Racecourse in the Park and Ride car park.

 

Park and Ride: This service will NOT be operating on Saturday 4th June. There is a walk from the drop off to the festival entrance which will take approx 10mins. The postcode for the drop off area is - NG2 4BE 

How do I get home?
There will be buses running back into the city centre from the Park and Ride site, close to Nottingham Racecourse. These are provided by Nottingham City Transport and cost standard fare, or you can use your usual travel card. They will continue running until everyone has left. Please be patient if you are waiting for a bus. 

Taxis: These will also be waiting in the Park and Ride site. Don't try and flag one down on the roadside.

I lost something at Detonate Festival, how do I get it back?
If you lost something at Detonate Festival, please let us know HERE. If your item was found we will contact you after the festival and arrange for it to be returned.
